About me
Hello! I’m Jeffrey Oh, a mixed-methods UX researcher based in Pennsylvania. I hold an M.S. in Informatics (Human-Computer Interaction) and a B.S. in Information Sciences and Technology, both from Penn State.
Right out of the gate, I found myself working as an IT Specialist for a wholesale company. After some time I realized I was in a position where I couldn’t create scalable, creative solutions for the company. So I switched to a field where I, the users and the company could work together to create something amazing: UX.
Today I combine qualitative research with Python-based data analysis. At Penn State I led research on how people perceive and play mobile games: I ran 30+ semi-structured interviews, helped consolidate 954 qualitative codes into shared themes, and turned the findings into design recommendations. I’m a published HCI researcher, and I care most about translating behavioral evidence into decisions a product team can act on.
My research interests are AI interaction, dark patterns, usability and data science.
